ADELEKE as no primary school certificate

The Osun State PDP’s governorship candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has been dragged to court by some aggrieved members of the party for alleged non-possession of primary school certificate. According to reports, the members are seeking that the court grant an interim order to set aside results of the governorship election that produced Adeleke. The plaintiffs are also asking the court to grant an order restraining the PDP from presenting Adeleke’s name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the September 22nd governorship poll. When the case came up for mention on Wednesday, July 25, the counsel for the applicants, Mathew Ayandokun, prayed the court for an interim order setting aside the election of Adeleke. He also asked the court to stop the INEC from accepting his nomination as the party’s flag bearer. The protest which started around 11am turned bloody when unknown gunmen, who invaded the venue of protest from the Nataco Junction brandishing different guns and cutlasses started shooting into different direction sending people scampering for safety including journalists. Motorists and market women along the Lokoja-Abuja highway also scampered for safety after hearing the gunshots. The shooting continued for a while before more security operatives arrived.                  Troops recover large cache of arms in Southern Kadun a The recently launched Operation HARBIN KUNAMA II by the Nigerian Army in Southern part of Kaduna State which will cover some forests in Bauchi, Kano and Plateau States has started to yield the desired result as troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army recover large cache of arms and ammunition in southern part of Kaduna State on Saturday, April 22. The discovery was made when troops embarked on cordon and search of Gwaska, Dangoma, Angwan Far and Bakin Kogi general area of Southern Kaduna State. During the operation, the troops recovered 73 Dane Guns, 4 Locally Made Rifles, 1 Locally Made Machine Gun and 1 Locally Made Pistol. Others include 260 Cartridges, 14 rounds of 7.62mm Ammunition, 63 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 1 Locally made Small Machine Gun Magazine, a pair of worn out military boot and some quantities of assorted Improvised Ammunition and Pyrotechnics hidden in dug out pits.
